Warung Mendez in Ubud

This is a perfect combination of restaurant and warung. Their local food is really cheap and extremely good, while they still offer a wide selection of food, western, Thai and desserts.Try their Nasi Goreng Magelangang. 😉

I took a short rest at about 2PM and ordered mango juice and avocado salad.They tasted good with natural flavour!This cafe has some main course for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Tastes fantastic, came here everyday the duration of my stay in ubud. You guys have to try the goat leg. It’s marvellous. Overall i loved the vibe and taste. Cost efficient too I think.Dinner time makes a different vibe to lunch but must try~! 10/10 recommend

Date: 02/03/2019Came across the restaurant as I was looking for a place to eat. The ambience is nice. Kitchen is open to the view of the customers. The staffs are friendly. The BBQ Chicken was good but the Crispy Duck was just ok. They served 3 flavours of chilli paste and one is better than the other (refer to the picture attached) - if you can handle chilli, this is worth a try (but can be a bit oily). The food menu with the price is attached to help you with estimate the cost of your meal. Just note that the price listed includes both the service and tax.

Cozy place with nice atmosphere and good cost-value ratio. Wide selection of food, from Indonesian to Thai and Western. They also have good desserts. Very tasty. Definetly recommended!

Absolutely delicious, flavoursome food in a relaxed setting. My family shared a number of dishes which was a great way to try a few things. The BBQ chicken and noodles were particularly yummy!

Food here is delicious and reasonably priced for the high quality you receive. My wife and I have been here three times and each time is just as good as the last. We enjoy the bubur ikan and teriyaki tofu. The restaurant has an open seating space and kitchen so you can watch your food being prepared. The all-women wait staff are friendly. Parking is a bit limited with room for about 10 or so motorbikes.

I missed thai food so much and tried to find the restaurant with thai food close by and I found this one.. the staff was unfriendly and didn't even say thank you after collecting payment 🤨 I ordered pad thai and it's 45k, let's talk about the taste.. its not look like pad thai at all but at least it's not bad.

2 adults and 2 children (5 and 3 years) had dinner here. Everybody found something aquired to their taste and we left with no space left in our stomach. Quality food, beautifully cooked and represented and very affordable.I do really recommend the chicken satay and dadar gulung (balinese pancakes with coconut) for desert, so yum!

Interesting menu and a nice open atmosphere. We went there for a late lunch and it wasn’t too crowded. They have Indonesian food with a twist and also Thai cuisine. We ordered the Gado Gado that was quite delicious, noodles and what they called free range duck. There was almost no meat on the duck although it looked nice in the beginning, I really regret ordering it. The service was good.

Nice warung ! The food selection is quiet large, le place is lovely and nicer than a classic warung, the food good but not amazing. After reading the reviews I was excepting the food better. It is a bit far as well (walking distance) from Ubud's center and the wait is very long, so if you are really hungry and you can't wait, I don't recommend it

Fantastic - Great local dining experience & prices.My partner and I had the Papaya Salad, Thai Green Curry and the Tofu & Tempe - all were delicious.

Had the duck and the BBQ lamb . Super good. The meat was soft and peeling off from the bone. Even the starters . Eg. Bakwan jagung. The refreshing mint juce. Each one of them was delicious.! Must visit if you love Indo food and are in the area..

This place has stunning dishes. Fresh, delicious, tasty and relatively inexpensive. It's a bit of the wait for the food which is a good sign - it is made and cooked for you!We had two best dishes ever here. The Mangut Ikan, the smoked fish is just stunning, best ever. The free range duck is amazingly succulent. Or is really worth the walk just to taste these two dishes alone. Gado gado is also quite a good little dish. Visit it, you won't regret it.

We had a delicious meal here tonight. My partner and I selected the Thai green curry and steamed fish. Both were delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend people try out this Warung.

Visited this restaurant for their selection of BBQ meats. Ordered BBQ goat leg, nasi goreng magelangan (mixture of noodle & rice) and chicken tempura roll. Dishes were nicely presented. Although a small portion for BBQ goat leg, on the bone there is a good mixture of tender and grilled pieces of meat. Nasi goreng noodle and rice combo was average, however chicken "tempura" roll was under whelming (chicken coated with thin layer of seasoning). Quality vs. price, it's expensive. If you enjoy BBQ, it's worth a visit.

Tasty food, super affordable prices and friendly staff. The pad thai is outstanding! Going to try the ribs next time for sure! They also deliver for when you want to embrace your inner introvert. Make sure you visit this place when ur passing by. 😁

Excellent spot if you like your meats. Best to see if you can book a table in advance else there can be a wait.Excellent service. If you like your food spicy, just ask for their sambal sauce. That will kick your taste buds out of the park!!

It is a go to place for me. Their food has been consistently above average. It might be slow when there are a lot of people. It is close to a road so it gets noisy but the ambience is pretty good. I highly recommend the Wedang Secang, specially if you like cinnamon.

Great warung , foods and superb staff

Yummy! The food is SO GOOOOOD. I even ate there a second time! Fresh ingredients with amazing sauces. Definitely a place to try. Dish are priced between 40 and 100k. You will likely wait a bit (20 minutes) for the food given that there are 2 or 3 cooks and maybe 20 customers in the restaurants.

Good value warung in Penestanan. Mostly Indonesian and Balinese food. Excellent friendly services in our two visits in Dec 2019.

Such a gem! Once we discovered it, we kept coming back. The majority of the photos on google don't do the place justice. Lively and almost always full, this place is worth the wait. Delicious food, open kitchen where you can see the squad of cooks making it happen and great atmosphere. Don't miss it!
